Internships
Are you interested in an INTERNSHIP or volunteer work that involves trees, community, and connections? Think about applying for an internship!
Most of our interns are college students from Cal State San Marcos and SDSU; you can learn more about our team here.
These opportunities are designed to expand community action to plant, care for, and advocate for trees in San Diego’s urban areas. Interns (any age) will receive a stipend of $20/hour for up to 10 hours/week to engage groups, organizations, or neighborhoods to get and grow trees. These positions can also volunteer (without stipend).
Our outcomes are to (1) inform and educate a target community and (2) set and work toward a goal for community members to request trees, pick up and plant trees in their yards, or submit requests for a “free tree.” Most interns have a background in at least one of the following areas of study:
- Geography
- Environmental Science & Policy
- GIS and Mapping
- Urban Studies/ Planning
- Communications
- Public Health
