Annaliese Guthmann, SDSU Grad 2023
Annaliese is our Green Schools intern who just graduated from SDSU with a major in Urban Studies: Sustainability. She enjoys hiking, collecting plants, climbing, and exploring the outdoors. Annaliese is passionate about environmental conservation, social justice, and learning about urban planning and policy. She hopes to continue her education and work in the environmental field by learning more about environmental policy, mapping, and restoration.
Anisah Enciso, SDSU Grad 2023
Anisah is our Tree Ambassador intern majoring in Urban Studies and minoring in Sociology and Sustainability at SDSU. She enjoys taking walks outside with her mini schnauzer Luna, and reading by the beach. Anisah also likes to bake and try out new recipes with whatever foods are in season. She is excited to work with Kate Session’s Commitment to promote the love of nature in her community. She hopes to help the marginalized people in San Diego by advocating for trees, as well as sharing all their wonderful benefits with the environment and with society.
Mia Lorence, CSUSM Grad 2023
Mia is a Communications Intern majoring in Environmental Studies and minoring in Anthropology at California State University, San Marcos. She enjoys being outside whenever she can and her favorite activities include hiking, paddleboarding, and gardening. Mia has a passion for plants and hopes to further her education in botany. She currently does research with the San Diego Botanic Gardens and aspires to do more research on plants in the future.
Marica Dasaad Cortes, CSUSM Grad 2023
Marica leads Social Media and is the educational materials creator. Prior to working with Kates Trees, Marica graduated from Cal State San Marcos with a degree of Environmental Studies and a minor in Geography. She hopes to continue her studies related to sustainable fashion and the environment. When not working, Marica can be found in the kitchen baking goods, on a walk with her dog, or exploring farmers markets.
Zoe Collins, SDSU Grad 2023
Zoe has focused on mapping projects regarding grant eligibility, urban heat and health, and more. She graduated with a major in Geography and a minor in Sustainability at SDSU. She enjoys volunteering at the Elfin Forest in Escondido, ceramics, and traveling to new places. She plans to study international planning and sustainable development in London with the hope of helping developing countries, island nations, and other parts of the global south as they experience the upcoming effects of climate change.
