Annaliese Guthmann, SDSU Grad 2023

Annaliese is our Intern Coordinator who recently graduated from SDSU with a major in Urban Studies: Sustainability. She enjoys hiking, collecting plants, climbing, and exploring the outdoors. Annaliese is passionate about environmental conservation, social justice, and learning about urban planning and policy. She hopes to continue her education and work in the environmental field by learning more about environmental policy, mapping, and restoration.

Anisah Enciso, SDSU Grad 2023 

Anisah is our Tree Ambassador Lead who majored in Urban Studies and minored in Sociology and Sustainability at SDSU. She enjoys taking walks outside with her mini schnauzer Luna, and reading by the beach. Anisah also likes to bake and try out new recipes with whatever foods are in season. She is excited to work with Kate Session’s Commitment to promote the love of nature in her community. She hopes to help the marginalized people in San Diego by advocating for trees, as well as sharing all their wonderful benefits with the environment and with society.

Payton King, SDSU Student

Payton King is a third year student at SDSU where she studies geography, with an emphasis in water, climate, and ecosystems. She is our Community Support intern at Kate Sessions and is currently working on tree watering in droughts. She is also  very interested in sustainable cities and wildlife conservation and hopes to help promote sustainability now and so forth.

Chloë Sharratt, SDSU Student

Chloë is KSC’s Communications Intern and aims to leverage her experience in marketing, social media content production, and blogging to educate San Diegans on issues central to the organization’s efforts. She is pursuing a degree in Environmental Science and a certificate in GIS at San Diego State University. Some of Chloë’s interests include regenerative agriculture and science communication.

Gia Gallo, SDSU Student

Gia is KSC’s new Tree Ambassador, her current project is to learn more about our community needs and help them achieve their tree growing goals. She is majoring in Geography with an emphasis in Human and Global Studies and is currently wrapping up her last semester at San Diego State University. She is most interested in urban planning with an emphasis in environmental justice.

Zach Striler, SDSU Student

Zach is senior at San Diego State University, majoring in Geography with an emphasis in Geographic Information Science and Technology (GIS). He is our current Community Mapper at KSC, where he aids KSC and Community members in mapping trees in their local environment. He’s always been interested in the natural plant life near my home and around the world, and is excited to tie some of those interests together here at KSC in with modern GIS techniques and practices.

Grace Campos, CSUSM Student

Grace is in her last semester at CSUSM while studying environmental studies with a minor in political science. She is our new Green Schools Intern for this year and is particularly interested in environmental planning and political ecology. She hopes our cities can become more sustainable and environmentally conscious through effective design and awareness.

Natalie Farnell, SDSU Student

Natalie is currently a senior at San Diego State University with a major in Geography and an emphasis in Environment, Sustainability, and Policy. She is KSC’s Tree Protection intern with a focus on researching and analyzing municipal codes and policies surrounding tree preservation and regulation. She is extremely interested in the interconnectedness of nature and life on Earth and is looking forward to making a genuine, positive impact on our environmental goals.
