I work at San Diego Botanic Garden and we have recently received a Ginkgo tree from Japan. This tree is an offspring of a tree that had survived the bombing in Hiroshima. We are having an event to commemorate the tree and the lives lost to the bombing. This tree signifies new growth and resilience to the significant tragedy of the atomic bombing in Japan.
